Communication Arts Photography Competition

Any photograph first printed or produced within the last twelve months prior to the deadline is eligible. Selected by a nationally representative jury of distinguished designers, art directors and photographers, the winning entries will be distributed worldwide in the Communication Arts Photography Annual and on commarts.com, assuring important exposure to the creators of this outstanding work. Entries must be registered no later than Midnight (Pacific Time Zone), March 26, 2010. Entries registered after that date require a late fee of $10 per entry. No entries may be registered after April 9, 2010. website link

Lions International Peace Poster Contest
Posted: Tue, 16 Mar 2010 15:40:00 +0000Each year, Lions clubs around the world proudly sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in local schools and youth groups. This Contest encourages young people worldwide to artistically express their visions of peace. Each year?s contest consists of an original theme incorporating peace. Participants use a variety of mediums, including charcoal, crayon, pencil and paint , to express the theme. The works created are unique and express the young artists? life experiences and culture. The theme of the 2010-11 Peace Poster Contest is " Vision of Peace ". Students, ages 11, 12 or 13 on November 15, are eligible to participate. One international grand prize winner will receive a trip to a special award ceremony with the sponsoring club president and two family members at Lions Day with the United Nations. During the ceremony, the winning artist will receive an engraved plaque and a cash prize. website link

Fest Anca International Animation Festival
Posted: Sun, 14 Mar 2010 10:11:40 +0000Fest Anca is a international animated film festival, its purpose is to show contemporary, progressive animated films to commemorate the best of the genre?s history. The long-term vision is to approximate well-known international festivals, filling an empty space in this field of art in Slovakia . An international competition for best animated film - to be selected by an expert panel - will be part of the festival. Accompanying events will include workshops, exhibitions and chats with filmmakers and producers. The summertime festival atmosphere will be supported by a tent city, nighttime screenings and live concerts. Only animated films not longer than 30 minutes and completed in 2008-2010 are accepted. Animations must not have been submitted to previous Fest An?a. Only films in DVD format will be accepted for pre-selection. Films containing dialogue must be subtitled in English. There will be 3 An?a awards to the best animations consisting of a trophy and cash prize. All awards will be announced at closing ceremony of festival on August 1, 2010 .
